ON THAT FINAL NIGHT

1. On that final night
when Jesus was betrayed
they were gathered with him,
twelve disciples with him
— one would soon betray him.

2. On that final night
a room had been prepared.
There they ate together,
and they drank together.
— all but one together.

‘Take this bread and eat.
This is my body.
Take it and eat it
in memory of me.

He said, ‘Take, this is my blood
poured out for many.
God’s new agreement
sealed with my blood.’

3. On that final night
he washed their tired feet,
gave them an example:
’Just as I have loved you,
you should love each other.’

‘Take this bread ....

Dark, dark was the night
when Judas was gone.
Dark, dark was the night
— soon morning would come.

Back from a Break

During September, Dorothy and I travelled
to Norway and the UK.

After long flights
- Adelaide to Melbourne,
Melb to Dubai (14 hrs),
Dubai to Oslo (7 hrs) -
we did Norway in a nutshell
from Oslo to Bergen, then
the Hurtigruten Cruise
up the west coast of Norway
and back again.
Then an 8 day Trafalgar tour
and 4 days in London,
before taking the direct flight
(16 3/4 hrs)
from Heathrow to Perth.
We're a bit tired (!) but we'll still be a part
of the LWA convention and the
General Convention .

See some of you there.
