JESUS GIVE US PEACE

1. We pray for peace, but the war goes on,
the war goes on:
men and women are fighting on,
everyone of us fighting on

Jesus give us peace
in our hearts and lives.
From the cross you give
your peace to the world.
Jesus give us peace.

2. We make our vows and we break them too,
we break them too;
resolutions that just fall through,
everyone of them fallen through.

3.So touch our eyes so we see again,
we see again,
knowing everyone as a friend —
everybody is Your dear friend.

1986. All God's gifts are meant to be shared, to be like pebbles falling into still water, the ripples spreading wider and wider. Peace in the international community was a pre-occupation for many through much of the 1980's, in no small part due to the ongoing escalation of nuclear weapons in the USA and USSR. The end of the Cold War has shifted the focus, but there is obviously no less a need for peace at all levels - personal and interpersonal, national and international.

Back from a Break

During September, Dorothy and I travelled
to Norway and the UK.

After long flights
- Adelaide to Melbourne,
Melb to Dubai (14 hrs),
Dubai to Oslo (7 hrs) -
we did Norway in a nutshell
from Oslo to Bergen, then
the Hurtigruten Cruise
up the west coast of Norway
and back again.
Then an 8 day Trafalgar tour
and 4 days in London,
before taking the direct flight
(16 3/4 hrs)
from Heathrow to Perth.
We're a bit tired (!) but we'll still be a part
of the LWA convention and the
General Convention .

See some of you there.
